(2007) This Dexter hybrid was raised by Dan Little. It is located off the trail, on the southside of R.’Yak x Belle Heller’.
Rhdodendron 'CeeCee x Leola'
(2011) This plant is located in the small area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Scout Bridge Trail on the south and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the north. It is located on the trail, just north of ‘hyperythrum x op’ and is a hybrid from Stan Sutherland.
R. viscosum
(Unknown date) A tall, old azalea in the area southwest of the Cabin. It is located about midway between the Cabin and Rosebay Trails.
R. vaseyi
(Unknown date) This azalea is located on the trail, just north of the ditch. The accession number is 80-V-528.
R. prunifolium
(1991) A summer-blooming azalea with red flowers. This plant is located on the trail, next to R. hyperythrum.
R. 'Maxecat'
(Before 1980) An older, cut back plant located on the trail just north of the Kellam sign, in front of R. ‘Brown Eyes’.
Stylophorum diphyllum
Near the trail, not far from the Loop Connecting Trail. Yellow flowers in early spring.
Silphium perfoliata
Tall, coarse plant with yellow sunflower-like flowers, which clasp the stem. In the Wildflower Meadow, forming a large colony.
Senecio aureus
Large patch at Bonnie Cone Memorial site – also along Michaux Trail. One of the earliest of the wild flowers to bloom.
Actinomeris alternifolia
Yellow flowers in late summer. Tall and drooping, with ridges running down the stem.
Rhododendron 'Cecil'
(2007) This hybrid is located off the trail on the south side of R.’Yak x Belle Heller’. Research is unable to find much about the plant. The accession is 07-V-024.
Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Grandiflorum'
(Before 1980) An old hybrid located on the path by itself, opposite a large patch of Eubotrys (Syn, Leucothoe racemosa) on the east side of the Pine Woods Trail.
Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Boursault'
(1995) This plant is located in Area 2K on the Glen Map of 1990. It is bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the east, the Stone Bridge Trail on the northwest, and the Long Branch East Trail on the southwest. It is located off the trail at the north end of the area, close to (southside) a white oak tree and west of R. ‘Brown Eyes’.
Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Album' #2
(Before 1980) This plant is located in the small area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Scout Bridge Trail on the south and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the north. It is located about midway between the fence and the trail, east of R. ‘Griersplendour’. Once common in the Glen, nearly all of this hybrid have not survived.
Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Album' #1
(Unknown date) This plant is located in a small area bounded on the east by the Long Branch East Trail and on the west by the Long Branch. It is just across the stream from the Cabin. It is located at the intersection of the Loop Connecting Trail and the Long Branch East Trail.
Rhododendron 'Carouselle'
(2002) This plant is located in the Pine Woods area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Toothache Tree on the north and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the south. It is located on the trail, just north of the azalea, ‘My Mary’, and the accession number is 02-V-024.
Rhododendron 'Caroline' #3
(1991) This Gable hybrid is located off the trail, behind (east of) the other plants on the trail and near some large fern plantings. The plant was named for Joe Gable’s daughter and has been a good “doer” in the Glen for many years.
Rhododendron 'Caroline' #2
A very old, tall plant – one of the earliest plantings. Located some 15-20 feet off the trail, in the area of the large Magnolia macrophylla.
Rhododendron 'Caroline' #1
(Unknown date) This plant is located in an area bounded on the east by the Scout Bridge Trail, on the south by a drainage ditch and Coastal Plain area, and on the west by the Long Branch East Trail. It mainly consists of older plantings. It is located on the trail, on the sidehill not far from the wide bridge, and is conspicuous by its height and size – one of the early plantings in the Glen.
Rhododendron 'Carolina Moon'
(2009) This plant is located in the small area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Scout Bridge Trail on the south and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the north. It is located just off the trail, east of R. ‘Herbie’ and just south of a large overgrown clump of R.’Maxecat’. Hybridized by Russ and Velma Haag, its flowers are yellowish-green.
Rhododendron 'Cape White'
(1997) A Cowles hybrid raised at Heritage Plantation, with large leaves, possibly from a Fortunei parent.
Rhododendron 'Calsap'
(2003) A hybrid by Michener, crossing ‘Catalgla’ with ‘Sappho’. The flower is white with a bold purple blotch. It is located in the Kellam Area, off the trail, due east of the azalea ‘Gregory Bald hybrid’.

(Before 1980) This very tall, old plant is #1 of a group of four R. ‘Cadis’ plants, all planted close together next to the ditch. This Gable hybrid has its name formed from two parents, ‘Caroline’ and the species discolor.

(Unknown date) On the north end of the Kellam Trail, some 30 feet off the trail, just east of R. ‘Dexter’s Glow’. A very old, tall plant with no lower limbs. A Gable hybrid (Caroline X fortunei).
Rhododendron 'Cadis x Wheatley'
(1992) A large hybrid from the Kellam collection. This plant is located on the trail, in the area just south of the old entrance to the Glen and west of the Kellam Trail. It is just south of R. ‘Dexter’s Tan’.
Rhododendron 'Cadis x op'
(2010) This plant is located in the Pine Woods area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Toothache Tree on the north and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the south. It is located far off the trail, near the fence, close to a hemlock tree and a large clump of R. minus. The accession number is 10-V-006. It is raised from seed of an open pollinated ‘Cadis’ plant.
Rhododendron 'C.O.D.'
(1991) A Dexter hybrid from the Kellam collection, C.O.D. standing for Charles Owen Dexter. Flowers are pale yellow to white blushed with pink, deeper yellow in throat, blotch deeper yellow. A large old plant located in the Kellam Area off the trail, just west of R. ‘Newburyport Beauty’, and due east of the Kellam sign.
Rhododendron 'Buttercup'
(2002) This plant is located in the Pine Woods area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Toothache Tree on the north and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the south. It is located on the trail, just north of the azalea, ‘Late Date’. The accession number is 02-V-40.
Rhododendron 'Burgundy Cherry'
(2010) A Dexter hybrid, located close to the trail, just north of the Halesia tree.
Rhododendron 'Bryantsville'
(1996) A Dexter hybrid, from Don Kellam. Located just off the trail, on the section that intersects with the Short Branch Spur Trail.
Rhododendron 'Brown Eyes' #2
(1999) This plant is located in Area 2K on the Glen Map of 1990. It is bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the east, the Stone Bridge Trail on the northwest, and the Long Branch East Trail on the southwest. It is located on the trail, towards the north end of this area, and just north of R. ‘Dexter’s Pink’.
Rhododendron 'Brown Eyes' #1
(1991) A Dexter hybrid from the Kellam collection in the Kellam Area. It has large pink trusses with a bronze flare, unmistakable. It is located close to the trail, just north of the Kellam sign and in the middle of a group of R. ‘Grierosplendour plants.

(1994) A Phipps hybrid, from the Kellam collection. Our plant is very large and located in the area just south of the Kellam Area. It is off the trail, about midway between the Bog Trail and the Kellam Connecting Trail.

(1991) A Phipps hybrid from the Kellam collection with pink flowers and rounded habit. It is located in the Kellam Area, off the trail just northwest of R. ‘Governor’s Mansion’.
Rhododendron 'Brite Pink'
(2010) This plant is located in the Pine Woods area bounded by the Pine Woods Trail on the west, the fence on the east, the Toothache Tree on the north and an extensive growth of ‘Maxecat’ rhodos on the south. It is located off the trail, adjacent (on the eastside) to the large clump of R. ‘Maxecat’ on the south edge of this area. The accession number is 10-V-016.
Rhododendron 'Bravo'
(1993) This plant is located in an area bounded on the east by the Scout Bridge Trail, on the south by a drainage ditch and Coastal Plain area, and on the west by the Long Branch East Trail. It mainly consists of older plantings. It is located just off the trail on the hillside, north of R. ‘Consolini 302’. The flowers are light purplish-pink and the plant was hybridized by Leach.
Rhododendron 'Bovees Marbury'
(2008) This plant is located in a small area bounded by the Scout Bridge Trail on the west side and the fence on the east. It is located off the trail, close to the fence in the southeast corner of the area, near a hemlock tree. I can find no information about this plant, except “Bovees” probably refers to the Bovees Nursery in Oregon.
