(Before 1980) A hybrid of R. catawbiense with rosy-lavender flowers and a very vigorous growth habit. It is located off the trail, in the closest area to the Main Entrance on the west side of the Kellam Trail. It is plant #1 in a group of three plants, close to the fence and a large sweet gum tree. It is west of R. prunifolium and R. hyperythrum.
